The principle source for demographic information in Canada is the Census. It is a wealth of information based in many cases on sample sizes of nearly 98% of households. The Census provides you with statistics on age and gender, marital status, income, occupation, household characteristics, ethnic origin, home language, housing characteristics, religion, and immigration dates among many other variables. The following table provides the original release dates and the topics covered by the 2006 Census data. Click on live links to view available highlights.
